In an effort to make the recertification process easier for
physicians who also hold certification in the congenital cardiac
surgery subspecialty, the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
(ABTS) recently announced major changes to the procedure.
The organization has chosen to tackle this problem by
implementing a system that matches the valid date of the
subspecialty certification with the date of the main ABTS
certification.
The next time a physician completes the recertification process
for the congenital cardiac surgery subspecialty, the end date will
be matched to the ABTS main certification date, which eliminates
