artist who combined two arts and got
popular with his talent.
Arun was born on 2nd June 1983 in Patiala,
Punjab. His father was a tailor.
3. Arun never wanted to join his father’s
business as he found tailoring very old
fashioned and he felt embarrassed when
anyone used to call him ‘Darji Ka Beta’.
His father assured him not to force for it and
with this assurance, he taught Arun basics
of stitching and embroidering.
4. Bajaj’s life was full of ups and downs. He
was only 16 when he lost his father.
With the sudden demise of his father, he
had no other option but to leave his studies
and start tailoring at his shop.
5. Arun wanted to become famous and wanted
to choose a profession that he can love
pursuing. He combined his two talents, his
love for painting and stitching.
His first painting with thread was of Guru
Nanak Ji and this took him almost 15 days
to complete.
6. Arun has gifted The Union Minister Smriti
Irani an amazing painting of more than 2000
human figures. This painting was his hard
work of almost 1 year.
In 2008, Arun created another mesmerizing
piece of his thread work. It was a picture of
PM Modi which he gifted to him.
7. One of his painting was 6 feet tall paintings
of Lord Krishna. This painting got him listed
in Limca Book of Record, India Book of
Record and, Unique World Record.
This beautiful painting took three years to
complete and a total of 26 lakh and 36
thousand meters of thread.
8. Some of his paintings fetched him around
3.5 lakh rupees which were sold in a sale at
Delhi Haat.
Arun showcased his paintings in exhibitions
at Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and, other cities.
9. Arun's work has also been displayed in the
Surajkund Crafts Mela in Haryana and also
in the International Trade festival in Delhi in
2014.

him to perform better and look forward to
ways to go beyond being called a Darji.
10. Arun Bajaj is famous in all over the world as
“The Needleman of India”.
He dreams to see his name in Guinness
Book of Record very soon. He wants to
make India proud with his unique talent of
making thread paintings.
