Using Language Oriented Programming to Execute Computations on the GPUSkills Matter
F# has a number of features that support language oriented programming (LOP) – the ability to create an abstract description of a problem then have this description executed in another environment. In this talk we’ll look at the design of an F# library that uses LOP techniques to a user execute matrix calculations either on the CPU or GPU. We’ll examine the features that F# provides to support this technique. We’ll start by taking a look at union types and active patterns, and then we’ll see how these are used by F#’s quotation system to give access to an abstract description of functions. Finally, we’ll see how these descriptions of functions can then be translated into computations the GPU understands and executed.

Cientistas e governos do mundo estão procurando compreender a natureza das alterações que ainda são possíveis de acontecer durante o século 21. Para as áreas sujeitas a riscos de desastres é importante identificar o processo que faz com que estes riscos ocorram além de analisar as características de sua dinâmica de evolução para posterior gestão dessas áreas. O estudo de novas técnicas para monitoramento de processos de erosão ganhou grande destaque, constituindo um grande desafio para os pesquisadores. Desenvolver uma nova tecnologia para monitorar encostas, a fim de ter um novo sistema de aviso de desastres naturais que combinam técnicas de geoprocessamento em forma de Sistemas de Informações Geográficas (SIG) e levantamentos de campo sistemáticos (geológicas e geotécnicas seções) é algo a ser analisado. O objetivo deste estudo se trata de um monitoramento de encostas, próxima a Serra das Araras, tendo como base as melhores práticas internacionais, através da instrumentação, observação do seu comportamento, a análise do local de estudo e ainda o mapeamento de áreas de risco no trecho estudado na rodovia.

2. After years of self introspection I found
that I communicate only on superficial
levels of my consciousness. I give vent to
the responses in my autonomic, limbic and
central nervous system; which are
subjective and hence not absolute truth and
the expression in a given language is also
far too limited.
I am tempted or propelled from time to
time to communicate. But doubts about
acceptability, fear of condemnation,
apprehension about fall in my own
evaluation, inability to probe my own
subconscious stratum, shyness to accept the
basal aspects publicly and ignorance about
not merely intricacies, but also the simple
facts going on in my body tissues and cells;
make me unable to communicate the truth.
3. As a result, adulations and money
could not satisfy me.
However this understanding is giving
me the much needed great relief that I
can now live and interact with greater
fidelity to my innate core. Is this a
