Presenting…

Ekta Anand Surana
A little background?

I have been studying through the
marriage and kids. MCom, Graphic
Designing, Diploma in cost, Income
Tax, Computers, M Phil, PG in
Comparitive Religious Studies (University
Topper), Diploma in Naturopathy. (At this
point, my jaw dropped… read on…)

I have a unit that makes night creams
and hair oil. I with my friends run a life
coach center where we train women
from our community to take charge of
their life and live life to the fullest.

I also salsa and do some bit of writing –
here - www.facebook.com/Confusion
and here - www.facebook.com/Bits of
paper (and here I am gaping completely)
And as I paused to ask my next
question, she adds on…

I’m studying law (2nd year) and taking
training in a law firm in the mornings
when my kids are at school. I’m also an
Image consultant in the making and
doing my diploma from UK.

*I almost stopped asking questions at
this stage!
Oh, and baking too?

I’m blessed with two of the world’s most
sweetest angels who think they have a
super mum.

Like all kids with a sweet tooth, mine
would have a long face when they
would have to turn down all the lovely
cakes and desserts as it contained egg. (
We are strict vegetarians ). My kids
turned to me to fulfill their sweet
desires by making them all at home.

Every time they saw something new we
would try it at home. I must say there
are no better critic than your kids. My
son Adeesh would taste and say “mum…
bad…no one will buy it….” or “Mum
really good…..don’t sell it. I will eat it all”

(Awww.. Cute…)
Specialties?

Hand crafted sugar cookies, cup cakes
and breads. All are eggless. Everyday
something new gets added on though!
HBG and Showcase?

HBG is the reason the baker in me is
growing. If it wasn’t for HBG my super
mum title would have gone sooner than I
thought.

My kids and I religiously visit HBG every
night without fail and check all the new
inspiring creations.

It’s like they give me a homework list, all
that I have to try out for them. Every
weekend both my kids and I try
something new and spend our family time
baking goodies.
Ingredients?

Almost everything is available here in
Chennai (waltax road and stores like
passionate baking and sometimes
from b’lore )

But…my husband does my shopping
when he travels to US :D
Future plans?

To bake some eggless greeds for all
those who can’t indulge otherwise
and to pursue my image consultant
career.
Good luck Ekta and see you
soon at the showcase! 
