Chromecast is a small thumb size dongle developed by
Google that plugs into a HDMI (High-Definition
Multimedia Interface) port of a smart TV which allows
us to cast media from our computer or mobile device via
WiFi network using internet onto bigger TV screen.

• Chromecast was announced on July 24,2013, and made
available for purchase on the same day in the United
States for US$35.
• The Google Cast SDK was released on February 3,
2014, allowing third parties to modify their software to
work with Chromecast.
• According to Google, over 20,000 Google Cast–ready
apps are available, as of May 2015.

launch, and it was the best-selling streaming device in
the United States in 2014, according to NPD Group.
• Since Chromecast's launch, it has handled more than
1.5 billion stream requests. Google's second Google
Cast receiver, the Nexues Player, was released in

• First we need to connect chromecast which is of 2
inches in length to HDMI port of a television.
• Secondly a power adapter to be connected so that it can
be detected on wireless transmission.
• Then on your smartphone, tablet and pc an icon is
enabled so that the device which is detected by Wi Fi is
shown on the screen then you need press “cast” button.

add Thousand of new apps and it is so cheap that it

14. Chromecast is an inexpensive, easy-to-use way of
accessing a dozen worthy apps, most of which have
content readily available on rival streaming services.
Name-brand apps and the ones that content providers are
promising are important, but only serve to round out
what makes Chromecast really unique: the ability to
broadcast an app on Android or iOS, or a Chrome
browser tab to a large TV.
