12. Rita is a contortionist in Mr. Kite's circus. It
is implied she and Prudence are romatically
linked.
8. 3.LanguageAs a native liverpudlian , Jude has a scouse accent
combinated with british english.
Scouse is notable in some circumstances for a fast,
highly accented manner of speech, with a range of
rising and falling tones not typical of most of northern
England.
Irish influences include the pronunciation of the name
of the letter "H" as /heɪtʃ/ and the second person plural
(you) as 'youse/yous/use' /juːz/.
There are variations on the Scouse accent, with the
south side of the city adopting a softer, more lyrical
tone, and the north a rougher, more gritty accent. Those
differences, though not universal, are most notable in
the pronunciation of the vowels.
Words such as 'book' and 'cook', for example, can be
pronounced as 'boo-k' or 'bewk' and 'koo-k'.
The use of a long /uː/ in such words was once used
across the whole of Britain, but is now confined to the
9. Famous people
There is a lot of famous people in the film such as:
Bono as Dr. Robert
Eddie Izzard as Mr. Kite
Salma Hayek as Singing Nurses
Joe Cocker as Bum/Pimp/Mad Hippie
10. 4. Songs of the Beatles (Ralationship between the
songs and the parts of the film)
1."Girl" is a song orginally by the Beatles featured in the opening scene of Across the Universe.
It is sung by Jude on the beach and is interwoved with Helter Skelter.
2. "Helter Skelter " it's sung by Sadie and it's used on the background of the scene that Lucy is
getting arrested and Jude is being beaten.
3. "Hold Me Tight" It is sung by Lucy and Molly and takes place at Lucy's prom and the Liverpool
club.
4. "All My Loving" It´s sung by Jude to his girlfriend Molly while he is in his way to America.
5. "I Want to Hold Your Hand" It is sung by Prudence, when she had a crush on a fellow female
cheerleader and takes place at her School's Field.
6. "With a Little Help From My Friends" It is sung by Max, Jude, and Max's friends after Max
first meets Jude. It takes place at Max's dorm, a bar, and around Princeton campus.
7. "It Won't Be Long" It is sung by Lucy and and takes place in Lucy's bedroom and at her school
after she finds out Daniel will be returning home. Lucy's younger sister and friend and
classmates provide backing vocals.
8. "I've Just Seen a Face" It's sung by Jude while bowling with Max and Lucy when he starts to
develop feelings for Lucy.
11. 5.Conclusion: Personal Opinion
The film in my opinion was good but not brilliant . It's hard to pick just one
song because they are all very good and has the bonus that every Beatles
song was number one, what is indisputable quality scores. To improve
everything needed a correct interpretation and choreography. Julie Taymor,
in this case has been responsible for giving life to this work.
It was a well-made film who brings us a lot of culture of the 60´s , good songs
and who also make us to cry , to laugh , to understand and to enjoy .I give
to the film an 7/10.
