Father’s Day Awards Today we want to honor all Fathers of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church family. We want you to know that without you there would be “No Us”. Thank you for being great Fathers. • Now we want to tell you about this award, The Committee for Special Recognitions has selected a 2011 Senior Father of the Year!: • He is the Father of two wonderful children, one male, Rharl Hill and one female, Sharl Hill. He is also the grandfather of two wonderful grandchildren, Jherald Hill and Rosella Hill and another grandchild on the way. • He is a graduate of Philander Smith College and holds a Master’s degree in Sociology from Harding University in Searcy Arkansas. • He is a retiree of DHS/Department of Human Services having held the title, Assistant Commissioner of Arkansas Rehabilitation Services where he served for 35 plus years. He is also a retiree of the Arkansas National Guard serving as a Master Sergeant. In 1951, he was drafted in the Korean War where he served for two years & was on standby reserve for six years. His total service to his country was 21 years. • He is an excellent Father. His children, grandchildren, and wife call him blessed and he is a very loving, generous and kind man of God. He is also known to cook some of the best southern biscuits from scratch you ever want to sop up with honey or molasses on a plate with his smoked meats from his well seasoned hickory smoker in the family’s backyard. • He is married to Sister Ella Hill. • The 2011 Saint John Missionary Baptist Church Father – Brother Hayward Hill (present his gift).
