This information can be written, stored on a
computer or SPOKEN
Your Responsibilities
You must ensure that all data held is:
– Handled carefully
– Only accessed by authorised personnel
– Correct and thoroughly accurate
Your Responsibilities
You must also ensure at all times that you:
– Don`t leave information lying carelessly
about I.E notes or unlocked computer
screen
– All unused data is disposed of properly
– Keep network and computer passwords
secure
Paperless Office
We are working in a paperless office
– All written work to be done in books
provided by cptc
– These books to be handed to team
managers at end of shift
– No paper to be taken from office any
failure to comply may result in
disciplinary action
Data Protection Principles
The DPA has certain principles to which we must adhere. Personal data shall be:
– Be processed fairly and lawfully
– Be obtained for specified and lawful purpose and shall not be further
processed in any manner incompatible with those purposes
– Be adequate, relevant and not excessive in relation to the purposes for
which they are held
– Be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date
– Be kept for no longer than is necessary for the stated purposes
– Be processed in accordance with data subjects’ rights under the Act. In
particular data
– subjects will have the right of access to their data, the right not to receive
direct marketing
– material and the right to prevent decisions being taken solely by automatic
means
– Be protected against unlawful processing and against accidental loss,
destruction or damage
– Not be transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area unless
that country
– ensures an adequate level of protection for data subjects’ rights in relation
to their data
Penalties
• The company could be banned from
holding personal information
• The company could be heavily fined
• You could be dismissed for Gross
Misconduct

• This training is of great importance to not
only the company but also to you
• Therefore you will be given a sign off
sheet that states you have received the
training, understood it and are prepared to
follow it
