What kind of media institution might distribute your media productand why?
In terms of having a media institution to distribute my film I would love such a
main stream institution to distribute it someone such as universalpictures or
paramountpictures just to name a few of the popular ones, the two
distributors mentioned beforeare two of the biggest distributors in the world
so getting one of these would be great as they have proven to distribute great
thrillers down the years and they have been very successfulwith it and that is a
level in which I wish to reach one day . However on a morerealistic scale for
now I feel as if that my film will be distributed by an independent institution
and one in particular could be revolver entertainment, this is one of the
leading distributors in the United Kingdom and they have distributed a film
that goes by the name of ‘kidulthood’ this is a film which I feel is similar to
mine and looking at how successfulithas become I think that my thriller could
follow in its footsteps. Going back to looking at how successfulit was I think
that this is a reason why the revolver entertainment would wantto fund this
media product becauselooking back on how much of an impact other films
similar to mine as made they will see the potential to fund my film and
distribute it via their company. So I guess the inspiration for my thriller film
and who is to fund and distribute it comes from the film of kidulthood. In
terms of exhibiting the film I was thinking of at firstreleasing little snippets of
the film online on the internet this being so that the audience get a little idea
of whatthe film is going to be all about then next I was going to release it
privately at some sortof film festival this will be done to get a preview of what
the finished article will look like if shown in the cinemas. After that my film will
appear in cinemas for my target audience to watch in full for the first time with
friends and family and hopefully it will be up to good standard and by word of
mouth my thriller should spread and end up being a successfulmedia product.
At the end of all of this I was intending to release it on DVDs so people can buy
it making the company who funded my film have made a good investment over
time.
