Fall’s Fires
This time of year seems to sedate the world,
Silent and still, awaiting the darkness of winter
With spring, nature bursts into frenzy
Ever changing, always growing
The world thrives through summer,
The sunshine nurturing the earth beneath it
Then once again, nature slows down
The birds' migrations, the crows' echoing calls
The trees flare red,
Their flames, one by one, drifting to the ground,
Fluttering about in the chill of the wind
The world is hushed,
The stillness burning the atmosphere
Nature's last breath before winter's kiss of death
