1. Matter
Matter is a poorly-defined term in science (see below). The term has often been
used in reference to a substance (often a particle) that has rest mass. Matter is
also used loosely as a general term for the substance that makes up all
observable physical objects.[1][2]
All objects we see with the naked eye are composed of atoms. This atomic
matter is in turn made up of interacting subatomic particles—usually a nucleus
of protons and neutrons, and a cloud of orbiting electrons.[3][4] Typically, science
considers these composite particles matter because they have both rest mass
and volume. By contrast, massless particles, such as photons, are not considered
matter, because they have neither rest mass nor volume. However, not all
particles with rest mass have a classical volume, since fundamental particles
such as quarks and leptons (sometimes equated with matter) are considered
"point particles" with no effective size or volume. Nevertheless, quarks and
leptons together make up "ordinary matter," and their interactions contribute to
the effective volume of the composite particles that make up ordinary matter.
How chemistry influences society?
chemistry influences society because without it there would be no plastic, cars, and no
us. we need chemistry in order to live. without some field of chemistry, we would all die.
Chemistry in Everyday Life
Learn about chemistry as it relates to everyday life. You'll find out how things work, see
the humorous side of science, get ideas for home experiments, and catch the latest
chemistry news.
Chemistry is a big part of your everyday life. You find chemistry in daily life in the foods
you eat, the air you breathe, your soap, your emotions and literally every object you
can see or touch. Here's a look at some everyday chemistry.
Chemistry is used to determine the chemical makeup of any molecular structure. By
understanding chemistry, size, texture, colour, etc. can be determined. Chemistry is
used to make so many products that we may not think about, such as the battery in
your laptop, that barbecue flavour in your chips, the salt on you table, etc...
it is actually used in all things like in our kitchen, we use chemistry to make our coffee,
juices, our vouyance and even in cooking because we mix different kinds of mixtures
like vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar in adobo.
