Progress Report is a blog
started by two 15 year old Scottish Standard Grade English students to improve their writing
skills in a period of intensive private tuition during the months before the final exam. The
success came when both achieved Credit level passes, in one case two grades higher than in
the prelim exam. One of the students then went back to blogging in Higher English, (example
shown here) and although no longer attending private tuition benefited from the comments and
assessment that went on in the comments section of the blog, both from her former tutor and
from other educators and students. She has just been awarded the English prize for her year
group.
The project was called "Process Blogging", after the better known technique of "Process
Writing"
