Bromus carinatus, commonly known as California brome, is a species of grass that is native to western North America. It is a perennial bunchgrass that grows in dense tufts or clumps and produces seed heads with spikelets arranged in overlapping pairs along the branches. California brome is well adapted to dry, open areas and provides both food and cover for wildlife.
