D.P. Gupta and Shri R.K. Bansal and further consolidated and expanded

Infotech and Sunfest Infratech & Power Ltd.
Early life and Education
Adesh Gupta is a Mechanical Engineer (1977–82) from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra
(Haryana). Adesh married Punam Gupta in the year 1983. He has three daughters, Ashna, Vidhi and

Career
Adesh specialized in Polyurethane (PU) Applications in Footwear and he pioneered the application of
PU technology for the first time in India in 1983 and helped make Liberty a leader in Domestic
Market.
Adesh learned the tricks of trade from his father, the late Shri P.D. Gupta. His close proximity with the
best shoe companies across the world, extensive travel, and in-depth research and analysis in footwear
and business technologies has helped him choose and implement the best practices in his own
business. To meet the burgeoning industrial requirements, Adesh has also put into place a road map
for Liberty’s success in the international markets and aggressively marketed the brand.
Adesh has changed the company into a multi-product conglomerate with interests in Retailing,
Infotech, Whiteware, Technology, Chemicals and Real Estate. Adesh Gupta has acted as Chairman,
Confederation of Indian Industry (Northern Region).[3] He has headed the Footwear Design and
Development Institute (2005–08) as Chairman under the aegis of Ministry of Commerce, Government
of India.[4] He heads a number of Professional as well as Govt. Bodies related to Footwear Industry in
various capacities. He is also actively involved in a number of religious and social organizations to
contribute towards his organization's Corporate Social Responsibility.
Gupta had already proved his mettle by playing instrumental role in growing and strengthening the
reputed group of companies. In 1983, his pioneering initiative of using Polyurethane Technology for
manufacturing footwear had propelled the group to a leadership position in the domestic market.
Today, even as Liberty Group holds a position of repute and boasts of a presence across 25 countries,
Gupta has lofty plans for Liberty Group and aims to establish Liberty Group amongst a select group of
internationally respected and diversified conglomerates.
