What would you do if you had brain disease? The brain is the most important part of the human
body. Without it, you would not be able to think, and more importantly, you would be dead. Two
serious brain diseases are brain tumors and Alzheimer's disease. A brain tumor is a massive growth
of abnormal cells in the brain. There are many types of brain tumors. Some may be benign, which is
noncancerous, or they may be malignant, which is cancerous (Brain Tumor). Alzheimer's disease is
an unstoppable brain disease that gradually damages one's memory and thinking. Eventually, the

the best process to remove a brain tumor. Surgery attempts to remove most, if not all of the tumor.

radiotherapy.

is well known that a person having a whole brain is crucially important to perform normal human
functions. Let's assume that I have come down with some rare brain disease that would cause my
brain to swell and I needed neurosurgery to remove 5 parts of my brain before the swelling was
fatal. Maybe just as complex as the brain would be a decision on which parts of the brain one could
live without while maintaining the best quality of life.

The hypothalamus is the part of the brain that regulates body temperature, emotions, hunger, thirst,
sleeping and waking. This part of the brain also controls the pituitary gland and regulates hormones.
Damage or loss to the hypothalamus will most likely result in unusual happenings with your
hormones.
I personally don't think I can live without any parts of my brain. The way the brain functions is
what makes us who we are as humans. If I absolutely had to choose some areas of the brain to be
removed I would try to find areas of the brain that would keep me as close to normal as possible or
as normal as you can get while removing so much of your brain.
The first area of the brain I would choose for removal would be the Occipital lobe. This lobe is
located toward the back of the brain at the base of the cortex. This area processes visual
