2. Please meet our literary hero Sprīdītis He is one span tall boy. Kind- hearted, smart, quick – witted and susceptive, hardworking child. He is a little bit spiteful - but brave and capable. Sprīdītis is a fiction monger and grateful.
3. Anna Brigadere Anna Brigadere (1861 - 1933 ) was a writer who wrote The Tale of Sprīdītis , a young boy from a Latvian peasant family and his fantastic adventures in a nearby forest. The Tale of Sprīdītis is very popular among Latvian children and adults, too. This is the story which helps everyone to understand moral values and teaches us to be brave and honest, to love our homeland and to stand against evil force.

8. Here are some different opinions about Sprīdītis taken from the book His stepmother says: “ He is as a peanut but lazy and freaky. He is earned to be punished by twig but not to be good treated. He didn’t earn any food and a nap during midday.“
9. King says: “ Sprīdītis is a very, very small but very alive boy. He is courageous! He could overcome a devil and saved my daughter from the claws of the evil one. I always will be grateful to him!”
10. Mother of winds says: “ A little nice chap with a very good heart. Sometimes overmuch enterprising – he wished to do a good work but was too little for that! When he will become a grownup – he will be a good man who can gain much. He will be a respectful and honoured man. Sprīdītis always will be grateful and it is so good. The real man have to be able to say: “Thank you!”
11. Princess about Sprīdītis: “ A tiny cheeky boy! I don’t know who guards and helps him that nobody can harm him – even the evil one. Of course I’m thankful he had saved me from the devil but I will never be his wife! What will other princesses think about me! Never, never, never!”
