Viropil is a combination of three protein blockers, dolutegravir, lamivudine and tenofovir
disoproxil fumarate, which is indicated in patients with HIV-1 infection. Among these,
dolutegravir inhibits the synthesis of genetic material. While lamivudine and TDF replace
other proteins in the reaction, they complicate the replication process. These Tablets are
taken once daily as an oral dose on an empty stomach.
3. When to Avoid or Use:
1. There is a chance that a skin rash could occur. Therefore, patients should
immediately stop using the medicine if symptoms such as fever, pain and
tiredness.
2. When the patient experiences symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, unusual
abdominal discomfort and weakness, which leads to excess production of
lactic acid in the blood.
3. Such patients should not stop taking the medicine in the middle of the
cycle, as it can cause serious problems related to hepatitis B virus infection.
