Shopping is traditionally associated with women. However, when it comes to online shopping at least, both men and women are almost equally enamored. And the perception that senior citizens are reticent to buy anything online … that’s just a myth. Consumers older than 55 are just as happy as other age groups to shop from the comfort of their homes. While everything from furniture to flowers can be bought online, not every product or service is best purchased via this channel. For many reasons, books sell better than motorbikes. So what makes a product category ideal for selling online? More important, is there a category where online sales can be greatly enhanced if thoughtful and relevant digital marketing techniques are applied?
