2. Promotheus Global Media
• As I found out earlier in the Publisher Research, Promotheus Global Media is the perfect publisher for my
magazine. They publish magazines such as ‘Billboard’ which has been a huge inspiration to me when it
came to creating my magazine. They also publishes three other entertainment magazines monthly, and
their audience is mature and understanding – buying the magazines because it relates to their interests
and because of the high quality they know every issue contains.
• Because this institution already publishes Billboard, there might be a competition between that magazine
and my magazine. The worst case scenario would be if one of the magazines shuts down because of the
missing response from the audience now that there were two magazines to choose between. A little
competition would heighten the quality of each magazine though, as they would both want to be the
better one.
• Billboard’s target audience is the same age as the audience for my magazine (16 to 26) which show that
they have experience with magazines aimed at young people.
• Billboard focuses the content in the magazine to appeal to males a lot, while my magazine is appealing
more to girls than to boys. This will make it stand out and attract a different audience than Billboard –
making the two magazines different from each other and not bitter rivals.
