This document provides information about door-to-door fundraising experiences for Save the Children through Grassroots Campaigns Inc (GCI). It outlines a typical work schedule including training, canvassing, and strict fundraising quotas. About GCI (Grassroots Campaigns InC.) independent organization that does strategic consulting, fundraising, and field organizing for good causes and candidates specialize in building and running face-to-face outreach operations in neighborhoods and in high-traffic public venues GCI was founded in December of 2003, and by April of 2004 had opened offices in 40 cities throughout the country

Travel to town and lunch 4:15-4:30 … Travel to the neighborhood you're canvassing ('turf') 4:30-6:00 …. Shadow an experienced canvasser as they canvass 6:00-9:00 …. Canvass a small area independently 9:00- 9:05 … Meet up with crew 9:30 ………… Arrive back at office, fill out paperwork, debrief 9:45 ………… Head home for the evening
4. Strict Rules and Pressure!!! Quota (140/day for STC) Under Quota pay: A canvasser who does not meet the quota in a week will not receive base pay, and will instead be paid minimum wage per hour for that week. If a canvasser fails to raise quota (which triggers base pay rather than under quota pay), they must still meet a minimum fundraising standard, which varies depending on location; failure to do so is grounds for termination.
5. Fundraising Strategies Be warm and friendly !!! Use the standard canvassing presentation Leave every interaction on a positive note (have fun, keep your composure, keep your heads up) Use your time well (hustle when you need) Target interested people, not indifferent ones (don’t waste your time on convincing a bullhead) Use magic numbers Target, target, retarget! Repeating is the key!
6. $25we can provide crucial micro nutrients and medicine for 25 children in a school setting $35 is enough to provide micronutrients and medicine to 35 children at risk of falling victim to anemia, parasites, blindness and other preventable or treatable conditions. $58 we can educate a girl for one year – including books, teacher training and educational materials $150 can help Save the Children respond quickly with food, shelter and other immediate relief when emergencies strike. $275we can provide a hand-washing facility that delivers clean water to children in developing countries
7. When you’re a manager Goal setting (everyday makes a little progress) Check with group members every 2-3 hrs Cheer your groups members up Avoid conflicts and gossips Fill out forms and debrief
