the heritage and
it’s outstanding natural beauty

•Many lost paths exist
•Some friends get together
•What can we do?
•Who can help us?

4. Before ..
And after....
The lost Kalderimi
clear it, see it, walk it
12. Anavasi Maps have
allowed us to use a
copy of their map to
illustrate our walks.
They may incorporate
our new routes when
their map is revised.
This will help our
work get recognised.
13. The summer walks
program in Platanias.
An evening walk for
visitors has been
popular. Visitors get the
chance to discover the
hidden natural treasures
of our area.
15. The old paths and
heritage of South
Pelion can be
preserved for the
benefit of all of us
if we are willing to
get involved and
help in some way
16. January / February / March - Winter walking program

April / May / June - Spring walking program.
Existing route maintenance. Cleaning, improving paths and signs.
July / August – A summer program to introduce visitors to the
kalderimia, encourage new members and supporters. Promote South
Pelion as a walking destination in Winter, Spring and Autumn.
September / October / November – Autumn walks and works
December. Take a break from work.... Make plans for new year.
17. Village groups are vital to sustain the paths
They must be active and involve the local community
We will provide resources, tools, signs, publicity.
We do not have enough money to maintain all paths
Village groups can organise local volunteers to do the
work themselves or raise funds for the maintenance of
their local paths (donations or sponsorship)
It will work if we take action. It cannot work if we sit
back and hope someone else will do it for us.
Now is the time to organise your village group
19. Please give us your support by forming a village group
Your ideas, commitment and involvement. Your labour
or your donations, there are many ways to help.
