HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial services company headquartered in Mumbai,
Maharashtra. Incorporated in 1994, it is the fifth largest bank in India as measured by assets. It is the largest
private sector bank in India by market capitalization as of February 2014.
The bank was promoted by the Housing Development Finance Corporation, a premier housing finance
company (set up in 1977) of India. According to the Brand Trust Report 2014, HDFC was ranked 32nd among
India's most trusted brands HDFC was ranked 45th on the list of top 50 Banks in the world in terms of their
market capitalization.
As of 31 March 2013, the bank had assets of INR 4.08 trillion. For the fiscal year 2012-13, the bank has
reported net profit of INR 69 billion, up 31% from the previous fiscal year Its customer base stood at
28.7 million customers on 31 March 2013
Technical Outlook
Technically on chart prices are trading in “Higher Top Higher Bottom” formation which is the first
sign of bullishness.
The momentum indicator, RSI is taking support at 60 levels for the third time which indicates strong
momentum in the stock.
On daily chart, RSI has formed “Positive Reversal” along with strong filled candlestick on prices
signals strength in prices.
Breach of 1048 levels has given the “Dow Theory” buy confirmation with high volume which
confirms the breakout.
For now as long as 1040 levels are protected on downside, prices can breach its all time high and
head towards 1160 followed by 1200 levels in few trading sessions.
