2. Information about the Seychelles
• There are 115 islands that make up our country.
• We part of the African continent in the Indian
Ocean near Madagascar.
• We are the only islands made of granite in the
world.
• The local ‘Seychellios’ speak ‘Creole’ which is a
mixture of old french and swahilli.
• We are one of the only places in the world to
find the giant tortoise.
3. Background information
• 800 students
• From aged 3-18 years old
• Aproximately 24 tutor groups from Year’s 3-13
• We follow the British National Curriculum
• We represent over 20 different nationalities
• We have around 47 teachers
• We have two playgrounds, eight bath rooms and
two car parks.
4. • We have 3 main buildings, a library and three
computer rooms with 25 computers in each.
• Our school canteen is called The ‘Tuck Shop’
• We have 3 Science laboratories.
• We also have a link school on an Island called
Praslin which is 1 hour on a boat or 15 minutes
by plane.
• All of our classrooms have air con because it is
very hot here.
• Our class sizes are around 25.
