2. DJI • Our Dream Job
Our dream job is to create dream jobs or in other words, to make sure that young
people would be on their right direction of getting or creating their dream jobs
The root of the idea is DJI or the Dream Job Instructor – the figure that will bring
innovation in the already existing educational environment while merging of the
EDUCATIONAL and BUSINESS sectors is taking place.
Starting from:
Primary schools OBSERVE, PLAYGROUND, SUSTAINABILITY
AIM: Children will get acquainted with nature, will think green and will strive towards a
sustainable future
- Nurturing information on sustainability through REUSE/REDO classes
- Going back to nature
- ‘Re-creating nature’ (planting flowers, fruits, vegetables gardening skills)
- Inclusion of playground learning systems
- Merging nature + technology in virtual classrooms (simulations of different environments)
3. High schools IMAGINE, DREAM, RESEARCH
AIM: We believe that this concept is a very positive approach to the development of
successful dreamers who will craft a HEALTHY society
- “Create reality, stimulate action” concept
- Innovation Jam
- Research on preferred topics (individually); priority topics: entrepreneurship, sustainability
- Imagine: Future & Compare-to-present
- Create and re-create (what buzzes them in reality should stimulate them to take actions)
- Freedom of expression and value of opinion
Universities THINK, DO, EXPRESS
AIM: By tasting different working environments, students should profoundly discover
their own fields of interest, because as human beings we are not always aware for our
cognitive capacity and inner interests
- Each semester students will be given different tasks through which they will engage in different
activities
- Choice of certain topic for research, apart from regular university classes
- WORK and OBSERVE the working environment in a company related to the chosen topic of the
student
- Open space for expressing their way of perception of different working environments
4. DJI • Survey
In order for us to see how implementable our idea is, we conducted a survey in which we asked students
from Macedonia several questions regarding this issue
• Question 1 : Whether the choice of faculty was their individual. General answer: “YES”.
• Question 2: Whether they think there is a place for creativity within the Macedonian educational system
in general. Answers: 50% said yes, 50% no.
* More than half of the people who answered our poll think that they are not able to bring
innovation by themselves in the educational spheres.
• Question 3: Whether they would like to go on an internship while they are enrolled at university. Answers:
All of the participants in the survey except one answered with firm “YES”.
• Question 4: Whether the students think they will be competent enough for their work environment/job
after they are done with their studies. Answers: A Good portion of the students weren’t sure and
answered with ‘maybe’.
• Question 5: How much are formal and informal education complementary. Answers: Some have claimed
that they are, and some that they are not. The lack of uniformity in opinions suggests that there is an
open space for improvements.
We also asked our teachers if they are opened for new ideas in education.
They confirmed that there is an open space for creativity within the Macedonian educational system. One
teacher said: ” This is an excellent option for our educational system. However, I believe that there first must
be a system for respective equipment of the DJI, and afterwards a system for evaluation and control of their
work.”
5. DJI • What makes DJIs unique?
*The DJIs are there to continually support students in developing their creative
capacities in a way not always possible in the classroom (due to class size, temporal
and other limits).
*”Most importantly, DJIs will mediate between the students and their future work
place, immersing them meaningfully in work contexts that students can observe,
research and learn from. “ - Elena Oncevska - Ager, our mentor
*We would like to sum up with an excerpt from our mentor’s comment regarding our
idea:
“The DJI idea is a well thought-out project that many current educational settings are
in dire need of. It is practical and fairly straightforward to set up even in traditionally-
minded societies, as the benefits are obvious, achievable and above all, essential to
employees and employers alike. “
