  2. 2. Proverbs 3.5-6“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
  3. 3. What does the Bible say of the Heart? The heart is the seat of: – Understanding (Matthew 13.15) – Reason (Mark 2.6) – Affections (Luke 24.32) – Faith (Romans 10.10)
  4. 4. How much should we trust the Lord?“Trust in the LORD, and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalms 37.3-4)
  5. 5. Our Understanding• We are not to rely on our understanding, but on God’s. • God’s ways are higher than our ways (Isaiah 55.9). • God has a plan. We may not understand the plan, but He has one. – Romans 8.28 – Daniel 3

  7. 7. Let Go.• Self-dependency and self-reliance will result in our separation from God (Isaiah 59.2).• Acknowledging (knowing) God will involve your commitment to Him in all your ways (Proverbs 16.3).
  8. 8. Let Go.• The idea behind this verse is the Lord will remove the obstacles which slow progress.• The path will be a path of righteousness (Psalms 23.3).
