Paul argues in Romans 6:1-14 that Christians, having died with Christ, should no longer live according to their sinful nature. He asks how Christians, who have been freed from sin's power and condemnation through Christ's death, could continue living in sin. Paul explains that through baptism Christians have been united with Christ in his death and resurrection, and so their old sinful selves have been crucified with Christ so they may live new lives for God.
