Most shells use a simple clip in system or a single screw.

3. All of our remotes are sent out to you with easy to follow programming instructions. These
instruct you how to program your new remote directly into your door, however some older
remotes use a different (easier) method for coding. Replacement remotes for the old style Merlin
and Tiltamatic garage doors use a dipswitch configuration to match the remote with the door.
Matching these dipswitch configurations is easy and below we will teach you how.
Instructions
1. Remove the front cover from your existing remote control.
2. Remove the cover from your newly purchased remote.
3. Simply copy the 12 or 8 pin combination from your old remote onto your new remote.
4. Replace both remote covers.
5. Begin using your new garage remote.
Please note if you have lost your existing remote you can copy the configuration directly from
the garage motor onto your new remote.

How To Program Merlin M842 and M832 Garage Remotes

6. We get numerous emails from customers and site viewers requesting the instructions for
programming their M842 and M832 Merlin Garage remotes into their units. The good news is its
super simple and we will tell you how step by step below. If you have trouble finding your learn
button please look at the example pictures below.
Instructions
1. Located the red 'learn' button or any button marked learn on the garage motor.
2. Press and hold the 'learn' button until the light starts flashing.
3. Now press the main (large) button on the new remote followed by pressing the secondary
(smaller) button on the remote.

1. 'Learn' button is located under the green plastic cover. You can remote it with a fingernail or
screwdriver.
2. 'Learn' button is in small square compartment on underside of the unit.
