every week during the season to watch it.Darrelle Revis was known as the best cornerback from
high school thru college and is still known as the best corner in the NFL.people have said that he
is just a hype but if you really watch him play then you will see that hype is not what he needs to
be called.
Darrelle shavar Revis was born July, 14 1985 in Aliquippa, PA where he live until he went pro.
Revis is known as one of the best cornerbacks of all time and have compared to some of the best
in history that have played in the NFL. Revis plays cornerback for the New York Jets which he
has been since he started his career in the NFL and have made his self a name that will go down
in history „„REVIS ISLAND‟‟.
Darrelle Revis went to Aliquippa high school in Pennsylvania where he played football
and basketball.” Darrelle Revis was a versatile athlete who helped his team to the WPIAL Class
AA title with 439 yards rushing on 42 attempts and 17 receptions for 294 yard; he was also a
lock-down cover cornerback”. Darrelle played many positions such as QB, RB, WR, CB plus
kick and punt returner in high school. “As a junior, Darrelle had 37 catches for 369 yards and
had three interceptions on the defensive side of the ball. Coach Mike Zmijanac says Revis is as
good and is cut in the same mold as former Aliquippa High School defensive back Ty Law”.
Darrelleplayed his best high school games as he scored 5 TDs in leading his team to the PIAA
state championship. Revis last year was his best year with18 passes caught for 300 yards and 4
TDs, ran for 529 yards on 55 carries and 5 TDs, and was 6 of 8 passing for 225 yards and 2 TD.
On special teams, Revis returned 6 kickoffs for 178 yards and 1 TD and returned 12 punts for
195 yards. On defense he collected 9 turnovers for 210 yards and 1 TD.Revis led all high school
with the most interception in a season out of all the other cornerbacks in high school. In his
junior and senior year he led Aliquippa to the WPIAL basketball championshipgame Revis also
led his in scoring both years he average almost 30 points per game in his last year in high school.
Revis had the most interception out of all the other cornerbacks in high school.“Darrelle was
Pennsylvania's top prospects in 2003 and got many scholarships by Division 1 schools for him to
play both football and basketball and he planned on playing both in college.
Darrelle Revis went to the University of Pittsburgh where he played all 12 games as a
freshman and started 11 out of the 12 games that year. Revis was name the first team freshman
all-American team 2004 and had an outstanding season that year.“Revis tied for fifth on the team
with 49 tackles, tied for team lead with 12 broken-up passes, and second on the team with 14
defended passes and he also had a totaled of two interceptions”. Revis‟s sophomore year was an
excellent season he was nominated for the first team all-big east at cornerback. Revis led his
team with four interceptions and he also had 13 broken up passes. Revis was named the player of
the game in the game against the University of Cincinnati with a 79 yard punt return and a
blocked field goal that one of his teammates would take back for a touchdown this was one of his
best games at Pitt.
