1. Carl lives in North Augusta, SC, where he is an assistant varsity basketball coach at Strom
Thurmond High School. Carl is also a Minister at The Mt, Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
Carl has played basketball and/or coached basketball for over 40 years. He was the Top Male
Athlete Graduate from Strom Thurmond High Edgefield, SC in 1982 and he earned a scholarship
to play basketball at USC-Aiken. He was called into Ministry in 2004 at Mt. Zion where he
preaches and teaches Gods Word. Carl is very passionate about Gods word and athletes.
Carl sensed God calling him into full time ministry with Athletes in Action, a global sports
ministry that uses sports as a platform to spread Gods word. With Athletes in Action, Carl will
do the two things he is most passionate about.( spreading God’s Word and disciplining athletes)
Carl is presently building a team of financial supporters. Once the team is complete he will be
assigned to Athletes in Action Global Headquarters in Xenia, OH,
