WELCOME!!!
In order to monitor your child’s progress on a regular basis, you may
wish to follow these suggestions.
1. Review your child’s Math Notebook (red 3­ring binder). It should be
neatly maintained, containing notes, homework, quizzes, tests and projects.
2. Check to see if your child is doing Homework on a regular basis.
Students need constant reinforcement.
3. Discuss class Participation with your child. Remember that
participation counts as 25% of each quarter grade!
4. Review the Test/Project/Handout Section in the binder. We can all
learn from our mistakes.
5. Discuss comments on Progress Reports and Report Cards. Dates
are published on District Calendars.
6. For Students studying Calculus or Computer Science:
Your child is studying college material! Both curricula are evolving
with each new advance in technology. It is an exciting time to participate in
the growth of mathematical discovery as we are experiencing changes in The
Calculus for the first time in centuries!
7. For the Parents of Seniors:
It is essential that your child maintain good study habits throughout
the school year. Many colleges ask to see the final grades for this year.
Occasionally, students transfer to other colleges. The four–year high school
average is then used as part of the criteria for admission. You want your
child to achieve to the best of his/her ability.
