Gone With the Wind
Saturday, August 4, 2012
2:00 p.m.
The epic tale of a woman's life during one of the most tumultuous periods in America 's history.
From her young, innocent days on a feudalistic plantation to the war-torn streets of Atlanta ; from
her first love whom she has always desired to three husbands; from the utmost luxury to absolute
starvation and poverty; from her innocence to her understanding and comprehension of life. 1939
USA 226 minutes. Not rated. Directed by Victor Fleming.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory
Presented in partnership with STAR POP vintage and modern
Sunday, August 12, 2012
2:00 p.m.
Charlie Bucket, along with four other kids and their parental guests, wins a coveted golden ticket to
enter the fantastic realm of Wonka's mysterious confectionery. After the other kids have proven
themselves to be irresponsible brats, it's Charlie who impresses Wonka and wins a reward beyond
his wildest dreams. The tour of Wonka's factory provides a dazzling parade of delights, and with
Gene Wilder's brilliant performance as the eccentric candyman, Wonka gains an edge of menace and
madness that nicely counterbalances the movie's sentimental sweetness. This enduring family
classic shows that even a wonderland like Wonka's can be a weird and dangerous place if you're a
bad kid, and true sweetness prevails. 1971 USA 100 minutes. Rated G. Directed by Mel Stuart.
