POWER MODULE
DESCRIPTIONS
The Energyst Cat® Rental Power fleet of modern Caterpillar Power Generation equipment is designed for reliability, flexibili-
ty and rapid response. Individual power generators start at 100 kVA and go up to 2000 kVA. The power modules can be used
individually or in combination to create larger multi-megawatt solutions. They are suited for synchronisation either between
themselves or with the grid for peak shaving and support.
Each machine has been purpose built to reliably meet the rigours of rental usage with frequent transportation and often harsh
operating conditions both off-shore and on-shore.
Generator sets with power output of 100 kVA to 455 kVA are housed in robust, sound attenuated, waterproof canopies that
are fully bunded with up to 24-hour internal fuel tanks. The control panel houses the necessary protections and circuitry so
that all adjustments to voltage and speed can be made outside the set, thus preventing the need to open the canopy side
doors during operation. Power generation modules with power output of 600 kVA to 2000 kVA are housed in CSC-plated iso-
metric containers of 20, 30 and 40 ft. lengths. They are totally self-contained, fully sound attenuated and bunded in case of
accidental spillage. Special twin-units with built-in back-up and extra quiet sound proofing are available for events.
Through the Cat® Rental Power worldwide network, Energyst also offers 5200 kVA gas turbine generators. These powerful
generators are environmentally friendly and easy to deploy.

11. AIR-TO-AIR COOLERS
Air-to-air coolers produce cold air which is transported via flexible air hoses and
distributed by plenums or air ducting. The air is circulated or re-circulated, cooled,

Self-sustained, closed system cold water chillers are used to provide cooling at

Self-sustained, closed system, hot water heaters are used to provide heating at
distances, or to supply hot water for process heating. Used in conjunction with air

HEAT PUMPS
Self-sustained, closed systems that produce warm or cold water for cooling or heating
at distances, or to supply warm or cold water for industrial processes. The
conditioned water is transported by flexible high pressure hoses to distribution

Situation:
A well-known telecommunications company needed 100% assurance
that its telecommunications satellite would not be at risk of losing
power during lengthy construction works.
Solution:
Energyst Cat® Rental Power provided a UPS and power generator solu-
tion to ensure power supply and integrity. There were several power
outages. The Cat® Rental Power solution always responded as
required. The satellite never lost power.
UTILITIES
EXTRA POWER CAPACITY ON CORSICA, FRANCE
Situation:
Corsica is a French island in the Mediterranean, and has its capital
city at Ajaccio. The total area of the island is 8,680 km2. Because of
power capacity problems and a severe winter, we were approached
by a French utility company to temporarily provide extra power
capacity.
Solution:
Within days, a shipment of 21 generators with a total capacity of
25 MW departed for Corsica in 6 Antonov aircraft and 16 fully loaded
freight lorries. The equipment was placed in Bastia and Porto Vecchio
for a period of 6 weeks. In short: a lightning-fast and extremely
professional action by Energyst.
INDUSTRIAL
INDUSTRIAL DATA CENTRE, GERMANY
Situation:
The leading data centre in Rüsselsheim lost its cooling system to a
breakdown that risked causing serious data loss.
Solution:
Energyst Cat® Rental Power supplied a complete solution for the
entire cooling system with a 500 kW chiller with two separate com-
pressors for increased cooling reliability and one 600 kVA power gen-
erator to ensure adequate power supply.

ICE SKATING RINK ON EIFFEL TOWER IN PARIS, FRANCE
Situation:
In order to promote the city of Paris, a temporary ice rink was built on
the Eiffel Tower during the Christmas festivities. At a height of
57 meters (187 feet), skating lovers could circle the rink and enjoy the
view.
Solution:
Energyst provided 2 chillers that ensured the ice produced was ‘high’
quality ice. The 2 x 100 kW machines were capable of transporting
water at a temperature of –15°C to produce the ice surface. The result
was a superb ice rink.
EVENTS
WORLD SKIING CHAMPIONSHIP, ITALY
Situation:
Every two years, the stars of international skiing compete for the title
of World Champion in the FIS Alpine Ski Championships. Last year, the
organisers of this touring event chose the slopes of idyllic Bormio in
Italy.
Solution:
Energyst Cat® Rental Power provided the power all over the event,
including both TV compounds, the local event square in Bormio, the
ski wax stations and the heliport. Energyst also provided the heating
equipment for the Main Press Center and the VIP space (2000 m2).
Excluding heating equipment, the project comprised a total of 8
generators with an output of over 7500 kVA.

A leading shipping company reported that one of its main vessels
