If a category has a small amount
(under 50 titles) you can hit top of
category easily…but you need to
know about themes
Themes allow readers to identify
books by keywords—if your book
doesn’t utilize the keywords a
reader uses to search, you won’t
be found

Start searching your category
Begin where it says “All”
Change that to Kindle Store
and select “Go”
You will see everything in the
Kindle store
This is where you find the
themes that accompany your
book’s genre

click on Kindle eBooks (left side)
You will see that your recently
viewed changes, but the left
margin will be the same
Click on your genre and start
digging through the drop-down
menu

need to be clear on what your book is
about
Niche themes are good only if
they relate to your book
Include your theme word or
words, using one or more of the 7
allowed keywords; it should work
in less than 24 hours

as long as it flows naturally with what you have

Insert themes by adding the single keyword to

You can also choose the best theme word
as listed on the left side of Amazon search,
and insert that as a keyword

new themes have not yet appeared
Amazon is rolling out incrementally, so
keep checking
AAC (Amazon Author Central) should be
incorporating this into your Author Central
Page so you will be able to add themes from
there
