Editor's Notes

  1. Presented by: Team 4
  2. Slide 2- (Brittney)  Statement of purpose, index, preview, etc.Use these notes as an example of what your notes should look like….“We typically envision stalking at work as comprised of violent acts, potentially fatal occurrences in which an enraged ex-lover (or spouse) enacts a violent assault in the victim’s place of employment.” (Katrece- insert citation here for http://organizedforefficiency.com/ways-to-recognize-stalking-at-work/) In this presentation we will learn that stalking is not always this easy to recognize, especially at work. Someone that constantly talks about you to other co-workers, won’t take no for an answer no matter how uncomfortable you are or even someone that seems to always be outside your office when you leave for the day are all actually stalkers. This is much more common than many may realize.

  4. Slide 4 – (Sara) Consequences of subject chosenConsequences of workplace stalking varies greatly. There is no way to avoid a stalker unless they are confined to jail. Its unfortunate that even restraining orders do not stop them. The victim is often affected in all areas of their life not just at work. Stalking of a victim also affects the people around you at work, because of lost time on the job and poor job performance. Source: https://www.stalkingriskprofile.com/victim-support/stalking-in-the-workplaceEach state has different laws for punishment of stalkers. The main thing is to be aware of the laws if you start to experience a stalking situation. And if in fear contact the authorities immediately. They suggest keeping all phone records, emails, voice mails, texts, notes, etc. in the event the person continues or the threats get more detailed or worse. http://www.musc.edu/vawprevention/research/stalking.shtml
