This presentation shows how organisations can transition to 100% renewable energy in four steps, starting from "Step 1 - Lead" to "Step 4 - Succeed".
It illustrates the rapid uptake of renewables and how more and more organisations and local governments are setting themselves the goal of 100% renewable energy.
The presentation also shows an example pathway.
The four-step methodology is part of a book called "Energy Unlimited", written by sustainability professional Barbara Albert, which is due for release in September 2016.
2. “I’d put my money on the sun
and solar energy. What a source
of power! I hope we don’t have
to wait until oil and coal run out
before we tackle that”
Thomas Edison, 1931

6. The rapid uptake of renewables is
driven by:
Steeply declining prices for renewables
Increased government support
The market-readiness of renewable energy technologies
Innovative financing mechanisms

7. Organisations are realising that meeting their
climate change reduction targets
is not as expensive as they once thought
8. Businesses, local government, regions,
states and whole countries across the
world are increasingly committing to
100% renewable energy

Australian emissions, National Greenhouse Gas Inventory, May 2010:
Electricity: 36%
Transport: 14%
Direct fuel combustion: 15%
Waste: 3%
Agriculture: 15%
Deforestation and forestry: 5%
