SAT / ACT
You may take the SAT or ACT an unlimited number of
times before you enroll full time in college. If you take
either test more than once, the best sub-score from
different tests are used to give you the best possible
score.

What is the difference between the SAT and ACT?
The ACT is an achievement test, measuring what a student has
learned in school. The SAT is more of an aptitude test, testing
reasoning and verbal abilities.
Some differences:
• ACT questions tend to be more straightforward
• SAT has a stronger emphasis on vocabulary
• ACT has a Science section, while the SAT does not
• ACT tests more advanced math concepts
• ACT Writing Test is optional on test day, but required by
many schools
• SAT is broken up into more sections
• SAT section scores are important while ACT composite score
is important

SAT:
A combined SAT score is calculated by adding your critical
reading and math sub-scores.
National Testing Dates:
• January 23, 2016
• March 5, 2016
• May 7, 2016
• June 4, 2016
Steps to make sure the NCAA receives your SAT score
• Log in to the College Board’s website
• Use code 9999 to select the NCAA Eligibility Center as a score recipient.
You can do this before or after you register for the test.
• Check your NCAA Eligibility Center account at www.eligibilitycenter.org to
make sure your account has been updated with your official test scores

ACT:
