• Coursework: Analysis of Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Operating Systems
R. V. COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING Bangalore, India
• Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. CGPA: 9.2/10 Jun 2013
WORK EXPERIENCE
FACEBOOK, MENLO PARK, CA • Software Engineering Intern May 2016 – Aug 2016
• Developed a rule-based classifier in C++ to classify under delivering ads. The work mostly involved framing and
implementation of rules by correctly fetching, analyzing and storing the required data.
• Expose new API’s in Hack (PHP) to call the above classifier via Thrift.
FLIPKART INTERNET, INDIA • Software Development Engineer 1 Jun 2014 – Jul 2015
• Designed and developed accounting systems to track orders placed on Flipkart.com. This involved creating
invoices, payments and their applications. These systems were used to generate financial reports at the end of
each month. Technologies Used: Ruby, Sinatra and MySQL.
• Implemented an accounting service from scratch for returns and refunds happening on Flipkart.com.
ORACLE, INDIA • Qualified Member of Technical Staff Jul 2013 – Jun 2014
• Designed and implemented the user-level password expiration policy in MySQL using C++.
• Developed a feature to bring MySQL server into offline mode, which ensures only super users can connect to the
MySQL server and gracefully disconnects other clients.
• Built a prototype to replace the regex library of MySQL with a modern one like PCRE.
QUBOLE, INDIA • Software Engineering Intern Jun 2013
• Developed a tool in Python to create sample datasets from real datasets residing in Amazon’s cloud storage, for
testing purposes.
• Extended the open-source Qubole SDK to add scheduler support for all jobs running on Qubole.
HEWLETT-PACKARD, INDIA • Software Engineering Intern Feb 2013 – Apr 2013
• Developed a module in Python to collect parameters that are to be monitored, to help build the Hyper-V driver for
Healthnmon (a monitoring tool for OpenStack Virtual Machines).
LINKEDIN, INDIA • Software Engineering Intern Jun 2012 – Aug 2012
• Developed automation tools to aggregate data from different systems and data sources (such as MySQL and
Oracle databases) and display them on a front-end web page, including the functionality of filtering and sorting
data in real time. Technologies used: PHP, MySQL.
SELECT PROJECTS
• Anti-Malware Stackable File System SBU, Nov 2015
Developed an Anti-Malware File System (under Prof. Erez Zadok) on top of Wrapfs File system to intercept read,
write, lookup and other system calls and check against a known malicious pattern database. A user level IOCTL
program was written to read and update the pattern database.
• xCrypt System Call in Linux Kernel SBU, Oct 2015
This project involved implementation of a new system call in Linux kernel, to support encryption and decryption of
a file. Crypto API and OpenSSL library were used. All checks and validations were done at the system level.
• Collaborative Filtering Recommendation Engine in a Distributed Environment RVCE, May 2013
This project involved implementation of a movie-recommender system by scaling up item-based and user-based
collaborative filtering algorithms on Hadoop. An experimental analysis of speedup vs. number of nodes was also
done. Technologies Used: Hadoop, Python.
