Markus Alexej “Notch” Persson
Markus Alexej Persson is world famous game developer and also the developer of Minecraft.

Persson was born on June 1, 1979, in Denmark, but he moved to Sweden with his parents and

went to school there.

Persson has earned millions with Minecraft and has already sold over 8 million copies of the

game, both on the PC and the XBOX360.

Markus Alexej Persson started programming at the age of 7 using his dad’s Commodore 128 and

he made his first game, a text-adventure, in the age of 8 with the help of type-in programs.

In 2005 he started developing games for King.com , which he left in 2009 to work at Jalbum.

After Minecraft sales grew, Persson moved from full time to part time at Jalbum, and eventually

left to focus on Minecraft in June 2010, and many of the employees of Mojang are also ex-

Jalbum Employees.

Persson also has a brother, Kristoffer Zetterstrand.
