The aim of this slide deck set:
• This slide deck is the first of a series of eight aimed to explain some of the
considerations that may need to be taken into account when
commissioning a web site.
• The main driver for the slide deck set is changes in the legislative
environment of computing, the concept of “surveillance capitalism” and the
impact of both on ethical behaviour associated with the use of information
technology generally and information management in particular.
• To address a recognised lack of technical knowledge on the part of many
who wish to establish a presence on the web. With the intent to inform,
objectively and independently, decision takers, so that they have a better
chance of “doing things right”.
