How Google is Reading and Indexing Content in 2016
Google Search Engine
1. Google Search Engine isn't just a Web Searching Tool

It is easily to be found, almost everywhere, many articles describing the 'excellence'
of Google in the context of Web Search Engine function (to search the more suitable
webpage/s according to the given query). Some say Google has slightly higher
accuracy in predicting users intent and much cleaner UI. So, yes, in addition
with its earlier established period and its 'popularity', Google then gain the
supremacy over its competitors.
In this particular case, I just want to share my prediction based on my experience
that "the status quo will remain the same for the next following years, as Google
right now is stepping forward to enhance the power of Multi Context
Search Engine, while in the same time, its competitors still stick
on developing their 'ordinary' web search performance." Google also has major
advantage on its 'more integrated environment'. Alongside with Android OS on
mobile devices and its other Google native apps i.e. Google Now, Maps, Chrome, etc.,
Google is very able to create a much more sophisticated features that Bing and other
search engines isn't (yet soon).
It is also by knowing the trending mobile-preferred users behaviour, Google then pay
much more attention to mobile-friendly issue. Yes, now it can be said that "Page
Quality Score is also determined by whether the page is mobile-friendly
or not." And again, Bing and other search engines don't do such thing (yet soon).
Another interesting approach is "Google really count in the Locale Search
Intent based on users location to generate its more likely results in order
to satisfy users better." A query given by users then processed by Google
algorithm to determine if there is locale intent or not, and how common the locale
intent is (if any). The dominant locale intent, for example, should have more helpful
locale results in number.
Those three facts alone will clearly depict how advanced Google is comparing with its
competitors.
I give some examples below, the results of Google Multi Context Search* based
on my user-location in Indonesia. The top result appears in Special Block that
clearly stands out on the result page.
*it's my personal term anyway, not the official Google's term
3. Example 3
Query: "mc donald's"
The result is...
Example 4
Query: "tom cruise"
The result is...
4. Example 5
Query: "how tall is barrack obama"
The result is...
Example 6
Query: "who killed lincoln"
The result is...
5. Example 7
Query: "alarm"
The result is...
The examples above clearly declare how advanced Multi Context Search is,
comparing with its predecessor the 'ordinary' Web Search Engine.
However, the first mentioned still gives the same Web Search Result list on the first
page but mostly located below the Special Block.
Obviously Google most recent approach to generate its top search result now is more
like one bullet, one kill.
