1. These two screenshots, from Jack and Dean’s video ‘The Stairs’ demonstrates the 180⁰ rule ( two characters
within a scene should have the same left-right relationship) as in both shots, even though they’re from two
different angles, Dean stays on the right hand side in both shots and Jack stays on the left hand side of the shots.
The effect this has is that you see from both boys point of view which shows mood and reactions of both
characters. The 180⁰ rule allows the audience to see the unseen movement happening around and behind the
focused character.
