ISS Schedule Mastery
1. ISS Schedule Mastery
Allie Decent
April 1st, 2013
Text/AudioNarration: Welcome Golden Peak Inside Staff to your online schedule training. During this training, you
will be learning about the ins and outs of the daily schedule for all of the children’s ski lessons. This training is
part of our effort here at Vail Resorts to give you the tools you need to give the guest the experience of a lifetime.
With preparation comes registration of more students in our Golden Peak ski school!
2. Goal
• ISS Personnel will be able to complete the
schedule chart and take the online quiz.
Text/Audio Narration: It has come to our attention that the schedules of varying classes can be confusing under the
high-pressure situations. The goal of this online tutorial is to help you practice memorizing those schedules so that
you are prepared for the daily assignments. You may work with this tutorial as often as you would like throughout
the year. Your eligibility for re-hire is conditional upon passing the quiz with 70% accuracy.
3. Performance-Based Learning
Objectives
• Given an empty schedule chart for Mini
PBO #1 classes, the ISS personnel will be able
to fill in the times and activities with
70% accuracy.
• Given an empty schedule chart for
PBO #2 beginner classes, the ISS personnel
will be able to fill in the times and
activities with 70% accuracy.
• Given an empty schedule chart for
PBO #3 mountain classes, the ISS personnel
will be able to fill in the times and
activities with 70% accuracy. Submit
Text/Audio Narration: Here are performance based learning objectives. These objectives are read to give you an
accurate understanding of the three main objectives of this tutorial. After you have read each one, please press the
button labeled “I Understand” to move to the next screen. You will not be penalized for answering the quiz on the last
page with incorrect answers. When you hit the 70% accuracy mark, your supervisor will be notified that you have
passed. If you get a higher score, your supervisor will also be notified.
4. Daily Mini Schedule
• 8:30 – 9:15: Arrival and playtime.
• 9:15 – 10:00: Instructors and snack arrive.
• 10:00 – 10:30: Bathroom and getting dressed.
• 10:30 – 11:30: Outdoor ski.
• 11:30 – 12:30: Lunch.
• 12:30 – 1:00: Bathroom and getting dressed.
• 1:00 – 2:00: Outdoor ski.
• 2:00 – 3:00: Nap.
• 3:00 – 4:00: Pickup.
Text/Audio Narration: Minis are the 3-year-old never-evers. Their schedule is different from all other schedules. At
8:30 the children begin to arrive. From 9:15 until 10:00 children are given an indoor “dry land” lesson by the
instructors. From 10 until 10:30 the children are taken to the bathroom and you help them get dressed. You will
accompany the group outside during ski time from 10:30 thru 11:30. Lunch is one hour long, with playtime allowed
when the children are finished eating. The next half an hour is for bathroom use and dressing. The children ski for
one hour, come in for nap or rest, and then are picked up by 4pm.
5. Daily Beginner Schedule
• 8:30 – 9:15: Arrival and art activities.
• 9:15 – 9:45: Instructor arrival.
• 9:45 – 10:00: Bathroom and dress.
• 10:00 – 12:00: Outdoor ski.
• 12:00 – 1:00: Lunch, bathroom, and dress.
• 1:00 – 3:00: Outdoor ski.
• 3:00 – 4:00: Pickup.
Text/Audio Narration: The following is the beginner chair schedule. There are less transitions in this schedule, and
more ski time. Unlike with Minis, you will not be outside with the students during their ski time. This is time for you to
clean bathrooms and be an emergency aide for instructors and supervisors. Please review the blocked times. You
must be inside with your assigned level from 8:30 until 10:00, 12:00 thru 1:00, and from 3:00 until 4:00.
6. Mountain Schedule
• 8:30 – 9:30: Check-in, snack, and
coloring.
• 9:30 – 10:00: Instructor arrival, bathroom
and dress.
• 10:00 – 3:00: Outdoor ski.
• 3:00 – 4:00: Outdoor pickup.
Text/Audio Narration: The Mountain classes will be indoors the least amount of time. For purposes of this training,
we will be reviewing their schedules only as it pertains to check-in and pickup. The children arrive from 8:30 until
9:30 and should be given snack and coloring activities. Instructors will arrive to split the classes by level from 9:30
until 10:00. The classes leave for the day to ski on the mountain via the Village Gondola (pictured above), and only
arrive back between 3:00 and 4:00 for children pickup. The mountain classes are picked up outside of the
Children’s Center.
