Islamic microfinance provides financial services in accordance with Sharia or Islamic law. It offers alternatives to conventional interest-based loans by using profit-and-loss sharing models. These models include murabaha, where the lender buys an asset and sells it to the borrower at a higher price, and mudaraba, where the lender provides capital to an entrepreneur.
