Hickory Dickory Dock is a nursery rhyme about a mouse that runs up a clock. The mouse climbs up the clock as it strikes one, two and three o'clock, showing the mouse quickly running up the clock to avoid being caught by whoever or whatever is "below". The rhyme establishes a sense of suspense as it follows the mouse's progression up the clock.
