Showing the use of space in a home and how it represents culture of the people who live in it.

1. FAMILY OF SIX

2. Upon entering the home
it becomes evident that a
family larger than the
average size lives here.
There is an above
average walkway that
previews a dining area at
the end .
If I turn to my immediate
right I open a closet door
that shows many shoes.
These shoes have
different gender flare to
them and within these
different styles of shoes
there are what seems to
be endless sizes.
Above the shoes are
what appears to be car
washing tools, cleaners
and things of car
detailing nature.

3. After walking a few steps I turn to my right and there is a beautiful untouched clean living room that I
failed to take a picture of. However, if I walk further steps down to my right I see a nice dining table
with a china ware display. This area looks like it might be used on occasion for either special dinners
or to sew and tailor clothing. The flowers are fresh and to me this indicates an appreciation for the
beauty flowers bring.

4. I walk to the end of the large walk way and see a smaller dining table. This dining table appears to be used a lot
more frequently by the looks of the left over food on it and some items purchased from the store recently. This
table also has fresh flowers on it but only has three chairs. This leads me to believe that this might be an area for
quick dining or possibly a breakfast eating table only. This dining area is the connecting area to two very important
places. One area is the kitchen on my right hand side and the other area is the family living room on the left hand
side.

5. The kitchen, This is
located on the right hand
side and to me it appears
to be very neat and tidy.
The owners daughter will
argue with me but the
owners daughter also has
OCD if you ask me.
When I see this kitchen I
see a theme. I see nice
rose color wood cabinets
with stainless steel
appliances. To have
matching appliances
gives off a sense of order
however this might just be
fooling the viewer. Lets go
see the rest of the house.

6. On my left hand side is
the common family living
room. Unlike other
untouched areas of the
house this living room and
the shoe closet are
definitely in high use.
There are some toys in
the far back left corner
which indicate that there
might be little ones who
occupy this space as well.
There is also dog food in this
same area which is a sign
that the little ones might
also be eating dog food.
Above the TV there is a
religious poster. This poster is
of the Golden Temple in
India which is a holy spiritual
place of worship. The Gods
on the side are Gods of the
Sikh religion. It is clear that
the family that occupies this
space is of a religious
background

7. Going back the way I
came from on the other
side of the large walkway
there are no rooms. There
is only one small closet
with a lock on it and a
high table that
showcases family
pictures.
On the table I see many
pictures of family members.
In some of the photos they
appear to be wearing
traditional Punjabi Indian
garb. There is also a
bouquet of flowers in the
center however these
flowers are not real.
Lastly there are two bottles
of hand sanitizer sitting on
the left side an it looks like
these are meant for
someone or just
momentarily here.

8. I quickly run back near
the front door and run up
the stairs to take a picture
from the top. The area
directly behind the wall
with the picture is the
shoe closet.
This picture on the wall
is also a monumental
area in India. This family
appears to be culturally in
tune and has an
appreciation for heritage.

9. While upstairs I am only able to go into two rooms, The other four rooms are occupied or locked. This room I am in
right now has a feminine vibe to it. Most of the pictures on the wall look like high school aged children however she
is 25. I asked her what those pictures are of and she said that its of her first years in college. She also has a
collection of lotions and make up, it appears she uses this space to not only sleep but to get ready as well. There is
a fan off in the far left corner which indicates she lives in the valley. Her personal bathroom is neat and tidy.

10. The next room I go into has a very large California king size bed and a very large walk in closet
where you can fit a full sized bed in. Most of the items in this room are male items however I noticed
some special occasion clothing that are for women. This space is used for sleeping and also getting
ready. I asked about this space and the older brother of the family uses this. His closet is so large
other people occupy clothing and linens in this closet as well.
