PMP certification is associated with higher salaries. Salaries increase with years of PMP experience and tenure. The largest salary differential is seen in South Africa, where PMP holders earn 47% more than non-PMPs. In some countries like Taiwan and Saudi Arabia, those with 10+ years of PMP experience earn over double those with 5 years or less. Common project manager titles that may require PMP certification include Director of project management office, Portfolio manager, Program manager, and Project manager I-III. A new US law also requires many federal government project management jobs to hold PMP certification.
