Holds the rank of Captain and currently retired from the Sri Lanka Navy having done a 26 years of yeoman service to the nation. Has had extensive exposure out at sea, thus commanding ships and crafts of the Sri Lanka Navy. Has acquired a wide range of experience and knowledge in Maritime Warfare and Force Protection Operations. Completed the basic naval training at the Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, United Kingdom, and is a Gunnery specialist and has passed Staff College obtaining a Master’s Degree in Defence Studies from the University of Kelaniya, through the Army Command and Staff College.
