METAVERSE
Facebook Avatars
(on WhatsApp) to make
instant messaging fun
WhatsApp users are now receiving
Facebook’s Bitmoji-like Avatars. The
feature is reportedly rolling out to select
users in the latest beta update on Android
– 2.22.23.9. However, WhatsApp is soon
expected to offer this feature to the public.
Avatars first came to Facebook’s News Feed
and the Messenger app. Later, the Avatar
stickers were available in the comment section
in 2020, followed by stories.
The feature was also pushed to Instagram
and so far, except for WhatsApp, all other
Meta social media and instant
messaging apps have it. Now that
the feature is arriving on WhatsApp,
it will supposedly be used by many.
The Avatar feature works similarly to
Apple’s Memoji, wherein, you have to
create your Avatar and then a full set of
stickers will be created based on the look that
you have set.

ANIMATION
Meet the dragons!
Dragons of all shapes and sizes have appeared in
the brand-new Game of Thrones spinoff from
HBO, House of the Dragon. They stand out from
other dragons with their distinctive traits, outward
appearance, and riders. Targaryens are success-
ful dragon riders, and their relationship with drag-
ons is extraordinarily depicted.
The dragons from the first season are listed
below:
ARRAX: Rhaenyra Targaryen and Ser Laenor Ve-
laryon’s second son, Lucerys Velaryon Luke, rides
Arrax, one of the smaller dragons. Like his mother
and brother Jace, he is a dragon rider, and gets
along well with Arax.
BALERION: Aegon the Conqueror Viserys I Tar-
garyen rode Balerion, often known as the Black
Dread when he took control over the Seven King-
doms. Viserys I Targaryen rode him until the
dragon died. He is thought to have been the last
living thing from Valyria, and as he took flight, his
shadow is said to have been so large that it could
engulf a whole town.
CARAXES: The Blood Wyrm-named Caraxes is
ridden by Daemon Targaryen. He has blood-red
scales, a slim body, and an unusually long neck.
He is also a pretty dangerous dragon. Caraxes
has a noticeable appetite, and he is savage and
cunning, and battle-tested.
DREAMFYRE: Dreamfyre is silver and blue in
colour and lays several eggs over her lifetime.
She is currently the steed of Princess Helaena
Targaryen, a dragon-dreamer who is also the
daughter of Viserys and Alicent Hightower.
MELEYS: Princess Rhaenys Targaryen rides
Meleys, a she-dragon known as the Red Queen.
She has copper highlights and is covered in
scarlet scales. She got her moniker because of
her distinct colour.

ons-we-saw-in-the-new-epic-series-house-of-dragons/
She is reported to have outrun even Caraxes and
Vhagar in her youth.
MOONDANCER: Moondancer, a young and agile
dragon, bonded with Baela Targaryen from birth.
SEASMOKE: A light, silver-gray dragon, is a highly
agile dragon despite still being young.
According to Fire & Blood, he had been Ser
Laenor Velaryon’s pride and passion.
SUNFYRE: Aegon Targaryen is Sunfyre’s rider,
making him the most spectacular dragon in the
kingdom. When the sun hits them, his golden
scales gleam. He bonded in 120 AC with Rhae-
nyra’s younger half-brother Aegon, a gold dragon
with golden flames.
SYRAX: The dragon Rhaenyra Targaryen rides is
named Syrax after a Valyrian goddess. She is a
baby, yellow-scaled dragon who is not yet as
intimidating as her adult counterparts. In the
iconic opening scene of the first episode, a yellow
beast soaring through the sky with a Targaryen
royal on its back introduces the first terrifying
creature to appear in House of the Dragon.
VHAGAR: The largest dragon in the kingdom is
Vhagar, also known as the Queen of All Dragons.
Vhagar is twice as big as Caraxes. She has deep
jade scales. She was ridden by Queen Visenya
Targaryen during the conquest of Westeros and
afterward claimed by Laena Velaryon. She was
named after the god of Old Valyria. To the dismay
of Laena’s children, Aemond Targaryen heeded
Vhagar’s call after Laena’s passing and became
her rider.
VERMAX: Younger dragon named Vermax was
born connected to Jace Velaryon. He has pale
orange wing membranes and olive-green scales.
Vhagar, the sister of Balerion the Black Dread and
the only still-living dragon to have traveled to
Westeros with Aegon the Conqueror, is arguably
the most physically stunning dragon on the show.
This dragon had grown almost as enormous as
the Black Dread of old by the end of Fire & Blood.
Her fires were so fierce they could melt stones.
The first season of House of Dragons’ photoreal-
istic dragons left a lasting impression on the
viewers’ minds. For season 2, the viewers’ desire
to witness more dragons will not diminish.

Los Angeles & has done the screening of the
legendary anime title Ramayana: The Legend of
Prince Rama.
The classic anime film, co-directed by the father
of Indian animation the late Ram Mohan, and
Japanese helmers Yugo Sako and Koichi Sasaki,
has been cleaned up and digitally remastered
in 4K.

Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama anime
began in 1984 when Yugo Sako, the planner and
the producer for the film, and Ram Mohan came
together. Koichi Sasaki joined as a director later.

Ram Mohan and team were in charge of the
scenario, art settings, dialogue recording, music,
while the Japanese creators were in charge of the
storyboards, background, original drawings,
animation, colouring, photography, and editing.
On the Indian side, top-notch scenario writers,
music directors, artists, and film actors of the day
participated.
The film was released in India for the first time at
24th
International Film Festival of India, New Delhi
between 10th
- 20th
January, 1993. But its
theatrical distribution was limited due to the
heated political situation following the Babri
Masjid demolition and disinterest from Indian
moviegoers towards animated films. Ramayana:
The Legend of Prince Rama, however, gained
acclaim thanks to the repeated telecasts on
television.
Recently, Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama
was screened at the 70th
edition of the Mumbai
International Film Festival (MIFF) for
documentary, short and animation films. The
MIFF release is being done in association with
Japanese company TEM Co – who initially
financed it and holds its copyright, on the
occasion of the celebration of 70 years of the
establishment of the diplomatic relations
between Japan and India.

rush-teaser-trailer-mythological-epic-drama-gives-vibes-of-video-game-than-
a-live-action-movie/
The teaser-trailer of the much hyped and antici-
pated mega project Adipurush is finally out.
Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker
Om Raut, the movie is based on the timeless
Hindu mythology Ramayana. Adipurush is a CGI
fest.
The teaser is filled with CG environments, crea-
tures, effects and a lot of action. This is probably
the first time that an Indian movie has tried to mix
all CG creatures with the live-action elements and
actors on a larger scale. To give a reference,
something like this was seen in The Jungle Book,
wherein some characters were in live-action and
rest of the animals were CG. The film has most
likely made use of motion capture, and other vir-
tual production technologies.
The audiences have a divided opinion about the
VFX of the film. With three more months to go,
the makers might fine tune the visuals before
bringing it out on the big screens.
Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krish-
an Kumar, Rajesh Nair and Om Raut along with
Prasad Sutar, who is also the VFX supervisor for
Adipurush. Sutar has a vast experience in visual
effects and has worked on VFX heavy films like-
Bajirao Mastani, Jagga Jasoos and Tanhaji.
