The document discusses a project to modernize the research infrastructure and laboratory at a chemistry department through the STARTEX program. The objectives were to update outdated equipment, create an excellence physical-chemical testing laboratory for fabrics, attract young graduates to research, and expand international partnerships. The results included renovating the working space, purchasing new laboratory furniture and equipment like an analytic balance, water distiller, and microscope. This improved infrastructure supported national and international projects and helped provide recognized test reports for local businesses.

20. - In 2007 – 2008 our chemical lab participated to an exercise
organized by Joint Research Centre of European Commission
for validating the testing method for melamine fiber
- In 2010 another participation took place for validating the testing
method for PAC fiber, also organized by JRC
Our physical – chemical laboratory has obtained highly
appreciated results in both cases.
