American Air: 1,200 non-union jobs to cut
As part of the American Airlines plans to slash
the costs in bankruptcy, they will eliminate
another 1,200 number of jobs, said in a letter
to employees on Wednesday. Cargo agents, sky
caps and baggage service workers at smaller
airports similar to South Korea, including
Memphis, Reno, Sacramento and Portland,
Oregon are just some of the affected non-
union jobs which plan to eliminate 13,000 of it
or 15% of its workforce as part of an overall
drive to save roughly USD 1.25 billion in annual
labor costs. As part of Wednesday’s
announcement posted in Eldridge Financial, it
would also close its southwestern reservations
center in Tucson. Jobs elsewhere including
South Korea or home-based employees will be
offered to those workers.
Moreover, scam Admirals Clubs at Washington
Dulles and Kansas City will be closed.
Americans are also expected to take place
those who do not require New York
bankruptcy court approval within the next
couple of months. The promising leaner and
tougher competitors showed in Eldridge
Financial are also cut thousands of jobs when
they simplified in bankruptcy quite a few years
ago. In addition, the parent of American
Airlines-AMR, filed for bankruptcy due to the
very well-known scam in November. The
company has also sought permission from the
court to canceled union contracts including
those covering pilots, flight attendants and
ground workers.
